Altura Concepts is the evolution of a dream that began nearly a decade ago. In 2016, visionary restaurateur Jaime Muriel opened Il Forno a Legna, his first concept in McAllen, Texas. What started as a single idea has grown into a family of more than five distinctive restaurants, with several more on the horizon.

This growth gave birth to Altura Concepts — a new umbrella identity that honors both the roots of the company and the city that embraced it. The name “Altura” carries a double meaning: it pays tribute to McAllen, the birthplace of the group’s concepts, while also reflecting Jaime’s personal origins in Bolivia, one of the highest-altitude regions in the world.

“Altura” is a reminder of aiming high — towards excellence, creativity, and passion — whether delivering the comforting familiarity of elevated comfort food or the sophistication of a fine dining experience. Today, with Chef Ruchit Harneja as Managing Partner and Corporate Chef, Altura Concepts continues to evolve, blending global vision with local soul to shape the future of dining in the Valley.
