About Us

Altura Concepts is the evolution of a dream that began nearly a decade ago. In 2016, visionary restaurateur Jaime Muriel opened Il Forno a Legna, his first concept in McAllen, Texas. What started as a single idea has grown into a family of more than five distinctive restaurants, with several more on the horizon.

This growth gave birth to Altura Concepts — a new umbrella identity that honors both the roots of the company and the city that embraced it. The name “Altura” carries a double meaning: it pays tribute to McAllen, the birthplace of the group’s concepts, while also reflecting Jaime’s personal origins in Bolivia, one of the highest-altitude regions in the world.

“Altura” is a reminder of aiming high — towards excellence, creativity, and passion — whether delivering the comforting familiarity of elevated comfort food or the sophistication of a fine dining experience. Today, Altura Concepts continues to evolve, blending global vision with local soul to shape the future of dining in the Valley.
